S-league Preview

Last week Preview - 3 right with 2 perfect score and 3 wrong

SAFFC vs Tampines Rovers
This could well end as a draw with both sides lacking firepower. The leaders are set to miss Qiu Li who is suspended and Khariul is not likely to return so soon. That leave them with Duric and Aliff and all 6 of Duric goals have come against teams in the bottom half of the table while Aliff have only 1 goal to his account. The Champions is not in much better shape as Indra, after a good start, have not scored in the last 5 in all competition while Martinez have yet to score from open play in the league. The standby strikers like Park, Wilkinson and Taisuke are also not scoring enough. That why both teams may be more cautious than usual as they cannot afford to go behind as they cannot be sure they can stage a comeback considering how strong each other are. 0-0 draw

Geylang United vs Young Lions
Go against the Eagles at own perils. That is their message to anyone who still doubt them. Yes, they are still not adventurous enough but they have enough firepower to get goals and their defence is tight enough to fence out teams. The Cubs will not be strong enough to stop the Eagles. 2-0 to the Eagles

Woodlands Wellington vs Etoile FC
Do the bottom side believe they can stop Etoile FC when they have failed to stop leaking goals against sides even weaker than the French. If they cannot stop the French from scoring then they cannot hope to get anything from this match and it is just a matter of whether the French can get more than their usual 1 goal. 1-0 to Etoile FC

Home United vs Beijing Gouan (S)
A chance for revenge. Nah. Not under Assistant Lee. I see him continuing to do badly enough until Home management finally see there is no hope like the Jason Withe era. He is capable of doing that. So, go Beijing. 2-1 to Beijing

Gombak United vs Senglang Punggol
After a great result against leaders Tampines Rovers, is it back to square one for the Bulls against the Dolphins. Not if they keep the local strikeforce of Fazrul and Agu and drop the Korean. Chang have been given his chance and he has proven he cannot led the Bulls attack but a half-fit Agu can and with the speed of Fazrul, they can trouble the opposition defence; especially against the likes of Dolphins who do not seem to deal well when attackers run at them. That why they may end the 'cruse'. 2-0 to the Bulls

Balestier Khalsa vs SAFFC
The Champions will have no other choice than to win this one, no matter the results against the Stags. They need the points and the reinforcement that is coming in the transfer window is a week away. Until then, they cannot lose sight of the Stags so they have to pick up points against the likes of the Tigers. It win or bust and they have dealt with such pressure and they can do it. 2-1 to the Champions

Beijing Gouan (S) vs Geylang United
After the Cubs, come the youngsters of Beijing and it is a good deal of hands for the Eagles. They have more rest and, no doubt, the better team. That why, it looked like a good schedule for the Eagles if they are to play 2 matches a week. One problem is the Yishun pitch is shit and the caretakers at the Stadium (So wake up and as least have grass on the field, not mud, considering SSC revamp the stadium a few months ago) are clearly not doing their job so it will be difficult to play any football. Long ball may be tactic of the ball but luckily they have Peter Tomko. 2-0 to the Eagles.
