Etoile set 10-game shutout record

Etoile FC have open up a 5-point gap at the top of the table even as they have played a game more than main challengers Tampines Rovers.

It was achieved after they destroyed Balestier Khalsa 3-0 at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

This result, apart from opening up the gap at the top, meant Etoile FC have gone 10 games without conceding a goal in the League.

It is impressive because it has now reached double figure; for the previous one could only managed 4 shutout thus this one could be standing alone for a very, very ..... long time.

The game on the other hand was over in half an hour as Frederic Mendy continued his hot form to get a brace while rumored-to-be-departing skipper Matthias Verschave got the other one.

The night before, Gombak United continued their erratic season by going down to Beijing Gouan (S) 0-1 at the Jurong West Stadium

The Chinese winner came from Wang Hao.
