Churchill clash with AIFF over players

I-league club Churchill FC have clashed with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for their players and is threatening to pull out of the AFC Cup.

With India preparing for the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers, three of Churchill have been called up to the national team and AIFF is refusing to released them for the AFC Cup

India’s opening match in the AFC Challenge Cup is against Chinese Taipei on March 2 in Myanmar while Churchill are set to play in AFC Cup on February 26.

The Indian club feel AIFF can release the players as there are three days after the AFC Cup game to get to Mynamar but Wim Koevermans, Indian national coach, is planning to take the team to Myanmar on February 26 is unwilling to do so.

The Indian club is grouped with Warriors FC, Indonesian side Semen Padang and Hong Kong champions Kitchee FC.
